We have all seen moss and lichen appear on a roof.
When we see it turning the tiles green, the roof is unfortunately no longer new. It spreads from under the tile because it lodges in the water channel. Invisible at first, it quickly causes water infiltration as the tile's channel becomes blocked. This often promotes the crumbling of tiles, making them fragile and prone to cracking.
